Ella's 6

I can't believe I'm a mom of a six year old. This year we are having a big bash! We invited every kid in Ella's kindergarten class and I think just about all of them RSVP. I had an angry dad tap on my car window the other day when I was picking Ella up from school saying "What's this party all about? Why wasn't my son invited?" I told the dad that all of the kids were invited and I put the invitations in all of the kids cubies. The little boy must of lost his invitation.

The party was fun and the magician was a nice little bonus to the party.










Ella isn't a fan of your typical birthday cake so she requested a coffee cake from her Nana. I think it was safe to assume that the other kids wouldn't like coffee cake so I ordered one from Glaus Bakery. I've tried a few times in the past to make homemade cakes but I've never been successful at baking. The cake was really yummy!

Thanksgiving 2009 in DC!

So I had the best Thanksgiving this year and so many reasons to be grateful.

1. I got to see my dad for the first time since his homecoming from Iraq.
2. Yummy food!!!!!! My favorites: green bean casserole, stuffing, and deviled eggs.
3. The whole gang was there, including my best friend Mackenzie.
4. We got to see the Real World house. Nobody but myself thought that was cool.
5. This time I got to see the city without worrying about a stroller.

Wow I'm super late at posting these- better late than never. Its already time to register her for kindergarten. By the way, Did you know that kindergarten is not mandated? How crazy is that?

Well last night we celebrated Ella's fourth birthday with family and friends at the cutest bakery ever, So Cupcake. If you haven't been there yet, go! Its located at 3939 South Highland Drive.

Last night of being three.

Well its Ella's last night as a three year old. Tomorrow at 10:20am she will turn Four!

So preschool here we come.

Advanced Gymnastics

For the last year and a half Ella has been taking classes at the Little Gym. We originally had her in the Ballet and Tap class with some tumbling time at the end of class. We noticed right away that she wasn't interested in dance the way she was in gymnastics. We made it through the semester, but decided next time around we would just put her in a gymnastics class. We saw immediate improvement, she listened and followed direction well. Tonight at the end of class her teacher approached us and said she would like Ella to be in the advanced gymnastics class. We're so proud, its a class you have to be invited to.
